SPN RPF Podfic: In From the Cold

Posted by: paraka on: December 22, 2009

Fic: In From the Cold by [personal profile] ladyjanelly (text link)
Fandom: Supernatural RPF (J2)
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Summary: One thing about working in a free clinic, Jared thinks, is that work is never boring. You never know what’ll come in from the cold on a night like this. (Homeless!Jensen)
Notes: This podfic was made for [personal profile] podcath for [community profile] amplificathon‘s 2009 Podbang challenge. This was a group effort with myself reading Jared’s POV, [personal profile] diurnal_lee reading Jensen’s POV and [personal profile] kronos999 reading Jeff and MacKenzie’s POVs.

I have loved this fic ever since I read it. It’s just one of those stories that resonates with you long after you finish reading it. The way [personal profile] ladyjanelly tells her story is amazing and heart breaking and uplifting all at once. It also threw me because it was never what I expected. I can’t say too much on it without giving away massive spoilers, but I will say this is a really moving fic that was able to show a side of humanity we often don’t pay enough attention to and I will always love it for opening my eyes. Seriously, even if you don’t like podfic or find my voice annoying or something, I still highly recommend your read the fic (hell, even if you aren’t into J2, it’s an AU, so can totally be taken as original fic).

I’d also like to take this time to thank [personal profile] ladyjanelly once again, for being so awesome and letting us record her story.

And I’d like to thank [personal profile] digitalwave for allowing us to use her beautiful art as a cover for the fic.

Welcome!

Hello! I'm Paraka and I've been floating around fandom since 2003. You can find me being fannish all over the place but these days mostly on AO3, and a little bit on Twitter (though that seems to be mostly politics these days).

All my fannish works are theoretically supposed to be hosted here, though sometimes I fall behind, so AO3 might be the most up to date.
